Opus 5.5 Walked In and Nailed It

Ben's school board game was the excuse. The real story was a few Grok rounds, then Claude Opus 5.5 on a Cursor cloud agent, and watching it land.

Ben drew an F1-inspired dice board for school. Colored spaces, hazards, sun and rain, paper and markers. Fun little project. I figured we'd try turning it into a phone web game the same night, mostly as an excuse to see what the bots could do with something visual.

I started with Grok and Grok Bot. A few rounds of that. Sketching the race, getting pieces on a phone screen, trying to make the board look like his drawing. Fine for proving the idea. Not fine if you wanted something that looked finished.

So I spun up a Cursor cloud agent on the site repo and pointed it at Claude Opus 5.5. Same brief, basically: make Round 1 match Ben's board, then invent a second track, keep it playable on a phone. The first pass from Opus was already in another league. Tracks that actually looked like the paper. A 3D die. Model cars. Tall phone layout with the controls where your thumb expects them. I barely had to babysit the look.

We still did the boring human parts around it. Photographed Ben's board so Round 1 had a real reference. A design pass and a code review caught a scoring bug before it shipped. But the jump that mattered was the model. Grok got me moving. Opus 5.5 made it look like a real game.

If you want to play the Easter egg, it's tucked at adamaoc.me/gp. Nothing on the home page links to it. Ben still has the paper board. The interesting part for me wasn't hiding a race on my site. It was watching Opus 5.5 walk in and just nail the build.

The Train Map Wasn't the Point

I rebuilt 15mindallas.com to get an easy blog for content I was already making, and let a designer bot score the build until it cleared 9 out of 10.

Apple put a touchscreen on the MacBook Pro. I've spent years wanting the opposite: a tablet running a real desktop OS, with a keyboard I can take off.
